UPDATE: Driver dies after rear-end collision in El Paso’s Lower Valley

EL PASO, TX — A 51-year-old woman has died following a two-vehicle crash late Saturday on North Loop Drive in south-central El Paso, reports KVIA.

The fatal wreck occurred in the 7000 block of the road near Delta Drive, shortly after 11:40 p.m.

According to investigators, the woman was behind the wheel of a vehicle that rear-ended another car. She was ejected from her vehicle in the crash and suffered serious injuries.

Officials confirmed she died two days later on July 4.

The other driver, a 30-year-old woman, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A report from KFOX14 indicates at least two other people were also sent to a hospital with minor injuries.

The impact of the crash was also said to have caused one vehicle to catch fire.

No further details have been shared at this time.
