MPD officer hospitalized after crash with fleeing driver in Midland
MIDLAND, TX — An MPD officer was injured Thursday night in a crash during an attempted traffic stop near west Midland, according to Your Basin.
The incident occurred near Midland Drive and Anetta Drive, in the city’s Western Hills neighborhood. It was first reported by Your Basin at 10:26 p.m.
Details are limited, but Midland Police Department said the officer tried to pull a driver over, but the suspect fled the scene.
The officer suffered injuries in the encounter and was taken to a hospital.
Several streets in the area were blocked off as authorities investigated. The public was asked to avoid the southbound lanes of Thomason at Midland Drive.
