Motorcyclist killed in collision on FM-1788 near SW Midland

MIDLAND, TX — A 32-year-old man died Wednesday after a motorcycle crash involving a pickup truck on Farm to Market Road 1788 in Midland, reports Your Basin.

Midland Police said the fatal crash happened at Younger Road, in the southwest end of the city, at about 7:47 a.m.

A early investigation shows the man was riding a blue 2020 Kawasaki motorcycle northbound in the 3200 block of FM-1788 when he approached a red light at the intersection. Officials said the motorcyclist continued northbound by using the right shoulder.

Moments later, a driver in a red Dodge 1500 pickup truck collided with the motorcyclist as the pickup made a protected left turn from FM-1788 onto Younger Road.

The rider died from his injuries at the scene, confirmed the MPD.
