Fort Bliss soldier seriously hurt by hit-and-run driver in east El Paso
EL PASO, TX — A 20-year-old Fort Bliss soldier was seriously injured early Sunday when she was hit by a vehicle in east El Paso, reports KVIA.
The incident occurred on Lee Trevino Drive at about 12:35 a.m.
According to authorities, the young woman was crossing from the west curb to the east curb of the road. At one point, a driver in a southbound pickup truck struck her and fled the scene without stopping to render aid.
Special Traffic Investigators were called to the scene to assist in the case.
Officials have described the vehicle as a white or grey newer-model pickup, close to a Chevrolet Silverado or GMC. It should have visible front-end damage.
