Driver dies after rear-end collision on N Loop 338 in Odessa

ODESSA, TX — A man died early last Friday after a two-vehicle accident on North Loop Highway 338 in north Odessa, reports Your Basin.

The fatal wreck occurred near the intersection with East Yukon Road on May 6, shortly before 1:00 a.m.

According to Odessa Police, the man was driving a 2021 Kia northbound on the inside lane of Loop 338, behind a 2017 F-250 pickup truck. At one point, the driver of the Kia failed to control his speed, causing the car to collide with the back of the pickup.

The striking driver was rushed to Medical Center Hospital (MCH), where he died from his injuries.

Authorities said the driver of the F-250, along with another occupant, received treatment at the scene and were released shortly after.

No further details have been shared at this time. An investigation remains in progress.
