Driver dies after collision on S Big Spring St in Midland
MIDLAND, TX — A 67-year-old woman died late Wednesday night after a two-vehicle crash on South Big Spring Street in Midland, reports CBS7.
The accident occurred at the intersection with West New Jersey Avenue at around 10:40 p.m.
According to investigators, the woman was driving a white 2020 Chevrolet Spark westbound in the 300 block of West New Jersey Avenue. She ran a stop sign at South Big Spring Street and hit a red 2015 GMC Sierra pickup truck going northbound.
Officials said the impact of the crash caused the Chevrolet Spark to veer north before colliding with a tree.
The driver of the Chevrolet suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed by medics to Midland Memorial Hospital. She was later pronounced deceased.
