EL PASO, TX — A 72-year-old woman was critically injured Wednesday when she was struck by a vehicle in northwest El Paso’s Mesa Hills area, reports KFOX14.
The incident occurred in the 400 block of Cabaret Drive, near Lyndon B. Johnson Elementary School, at about 1:45 p.m.
According to El Paso Police, a 50-year-old man driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck was pulling out of a private driveway and into Cabaret Drive when he hit the woman.
The victim was rushed to an area hospital where she was listed in critical condition.
Officials noted the driver had failed to yield to the woman’s right-of-way. The victim was also found to have been walking in the roadway, and not the sidewalk, at the time of the crash.
An investigation remains in progress.
