ECTOR COUNTY, TX — A 31-year-old Oklahoma man died early Wednesday in a collision involving a truck tractor near northwest Odessa, reports NewsWest9.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said the fatal wreck occurred at the intersection of Farm to Markey Road 866 and State Highway 302.
An early investigation indicates the Oklahoma man was driving a 2006 Mercury Montego southbound on FM-866. At the same time, a truck tractor with a trailer of oilfield equipment was traveling eastbound on SH-302.
As the Mercury reached the intersection, its driver failed to stop at the stop sign. Moments later, the truck tractor struck the car, causing another nearby truck tractor to be hit by debris.
Odessa Fire and EMS crews pronounced the Oklahoma man deceased at the scene.
No injuries to the other drivers were reported.
