EL PASO, TX — One person was hospitalized Saturday morning after a single-vehicle collision off Interstate 10 in northwest El Paso, reports KTSM.
The wreck occurred just off the Sunland Park exit ramp, just below the sign to the mall. It was reported shortly after 9:00 a.m.
It was unclear what caused the accident, but a four-door Jeep came to a stop about 10 feet above the roadway. Officials said though the vehicle was structurally damaged, the guardrail and k-bar barriers along the ramp appeared somehow intact.
First responders worked to extricate the driver, who was trapped inside the wreckage. The patient was then transported to an area hospital with undisclosed injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
The El Paso Police Department continues to investigate.
