EL PASO, TX — One person died early Monday after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 near northwest El Paso’s Sunland Park North area, reports KTSM.
The fatal accident occurred on the westbound lanes at Exit 12 to Resler Drive at around 2:30 a.m.
According to El Paso Police, one person died from their injuries at the scene. Another victim suffered undisclosed injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
It was unclear what caused the wreck, but footage captured at the site shows a pickup truck with severe front-end damage. A Ford Mustang was also seen with major rear-side damage and extensive damage throughout.
All westbound lanes were shut down at Sunland Park Drive. Officials expected the closure to remain in place for several hours during the response.
No further details have been shared at this time, but the EPPD’s Special Traffic Investigators were working to determine the cause of the crash.
